What is the Front Door process, and do I have to go through it?

The Front Door is a program within OPWDD (Office for People with Developmental Disabilities) that helps connect individuals and families to the services and supports they may need.

The Front Door department offers an optional Front Door information session, where families can learn about available services and how the system works.

Families often find that if they’re connected to an agency from the very beginning of their OPWDD journey, their intake and service coordinators can walk them through the steps and provide guidance tailored to their specific situation.
