There are several types of OPWDD eligibility. Eligibility itself is not revoked, but the type of eligibility you receive may change.
- Permanent eligibility does not expire or get revoked. Individuals who are determined OPWDD eligible at age 8 or older are granted permanent eligibility.
- Provisional (temporary) eligibility is given to individuals who apply for OPWDD before age 8. This allows access to limited, specific services and requires a reapplication for permanent eligibility once the individual turns 8.
- After permanent eligibility is granted, your care coordinator will apply for the specific waiver services that best meet your needs. Waiver approval for these services must a renewed annually, and this process is managed by your care manager.
