Hamaspik’s Cut the Confusion campaign launched this month across print and digital platforms with a simple but powerful premise: getting help shouldn’t feel overwhelming.

For many parents, the journey to services is anything but straightforward. Too often, families find themselves navigating a maze of information, unsure which steps apply to their situation or where to turn next.

Often, they only reach out to Hamaspik's services specialist after hitting dead ends, following false leads, and struggling to access services for their children.

The campaign’s clear, focused message and beautiful visuals convey the message we want to share: let’s cut the confusion. We want to reassure families that when they reach out to Hamaspik, they’ll finally find clarity and direction.

Building on that promise, a collaborative effort across Hamaspik departments led to the launch of a groundbreaking interactive resource: a series of videos that explain service options for both mental health and developmental challenges. In addition, it walks families step by step through the complex OPWDD application and approval process — using clear, accessible language.

What’s most innovative about this resource is that it’s fully tailored to a wide range of real-life scenarios. Is your child under 7? Ages 7–21? Over 21? Each situation is addressed with a dedicated, easy-to-follow video.

Do you have Medicaid? If you do, the path guides you forward accordingly; if you don’t, a separate pathway clearly outlines how to obtain coverage and continue the process.

Even if you’ve already applied and were denied, the platform provides clear, actionable next steps to help families move forward with confidence.

This video series is reshaping access to information in an area where clarity is often limited and difficult to find. By combining personalized pathways with clear, human guidance, it transforms an overwhelming process into a manageable one.
