What does a Com Hab provider do?

A Com Hab provider is an individual qualified to provide Community Habilitation (Com Hab) services to individuals with developmental disabilities.

These providers are caring, patient, and passionate about helping individuals develop life skills, independence, and enhanced quality of life.

A Com Hab provider will work with an individual in their home or out in the community – on public transportation, and in grocery stores, libraries, or work environments.

The Com Hab provider coaches the individual through everyday activities, such as travelling by public transportation, grocery shopping, cooking, or volunteering. Mastering these skills helps promote independence and self-sufficiency, and gives individuals a sense of pride and accomplishment.
